Dr Kirk Austin

Dr Kirk Austin is a specialist colorectal surgeon at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australasia and New Zealand.

His areas of expertise include pelvic exenteration surgery for locally advanced and recurrent pelvic cancer, open and laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and endometriosis; perianal sepsis and fistula surgery, interventional and diagnostic colonoscopy.

Dr Austin’s other interests include robotic surgery for benign and malignant colorectal pathology. Academically, his research interests are in surgical and quality of life outcomes after pelvic exenteration. He has co-authored several book chapters on pelvic exenteration surgery and is involved in a number of ongoing research trials.
